REVIEW : Bioderma Sensitive Skin Make-Up Remover

If you have not heard of Bioderma, it is time you look up for it. It is a brand made in France and have seen been leaving its mark in the international beauty industry. Today would be the day we introduce to you its make-up remover. The product is colourless and fragrance free. The micelles contained in its formula is known to micro-emulsify impurities while maintaining cutaneous balance effectively.

As you can see from above pictures, unlike most make-up removers, this one is oil-free. This make-up remover is also rinse-free. This is from their sensitive skin line and we have tried and approve of it. It does not irritate the skin. The list of ingredients can also be seen in the picture above. The packaging comes in two sizes, a travel convenient size and another the bigger one as you can see in the lower pictures. It lasts doe a long time and is worth the price to take care of your skin.

Attached below is the photo of the cotton pad used with the product to wipe the make up off. We just firmly pressed against the skin without any rubbing. We have used a normal liquid eyeliner, eyeshadow and a non-waterproof mascara for the photos for the eyes. We also used concealer and powder for the photos for the skin.

What we love about this is it also acts as a cleanser for the skin. So while you are busy removing your make-up, there it is cleansing your skin as the same time. This particular product is perfect for your tired nights, not to mention the blurred ones due to excessive alcohol consumption as well. Just with a few swipes of this, and you can crash into bed. At least this would be a way better solution than to crash into bed without removing your face of the make-up and dirt that has piled on over the day.

Directions - Soak cotton pad, proceed to cleanse and remove make-up and dry gently.

Verdict - Worth repurchasing.

REVIEW : 3CE Duo Cover Concealer

We are back with another 3CE review, finally. It took awhile for us to try it out for you until we made our conclusion on the particular product. You will understand why we decided on this one soon enough. Firstly, packaging, it comes in a compact little box that fits in your palm, literally that small. Which is one of the reasons we like it, so that we can carry it around conveniently in our bag, pouch or purse. It also comes with a nylon-brush which is a plus point. You can also check on yourself constantly or apply this on conveniently anywhere with its mirror behind the lid when you open on the inside.

As you can see in the photos above, it comes with with two palettes of two different tones. Do you girls still use a concealer in a certain colour that is only close to your skin colour but not really there but it is doing the best it can? Well, this might just be the solution for you. Because of the two tone of colours it comes in, you are free to blend the colours to match your skin colour. Simple as melting the colours on the back of your hand and blending them together for application. This concealer even works on red spots. It would be a great idea to use this to cover up scars as well. For coverage, you can refer to the photo below.

As you can see also, it does not cake up neither does it look cake-y. It is not so build-able however, it already provides quite good of a coverage so we see no reason to add on the layers. The colour is mainly for asian skin and if you are tanned, you must understand that you cannot go darker than the colour on the right. Likewise the colour you desire cannot be any lighter than the one on the left. You would have to be in the middle range.

There were certain downsides on some of the products and so too for this one. What we wished was for it not to be so dry. It dries up too quickly that when we apply it on our under eyes it just drags the brush. The solutions would be in your moisturiser, primer, and of course you could probably melt a thicker amount on the back of your hand, which would make more product waste. Another way is to use your fingers to dab the product onto your skin as your finger's warmth will help melt the product a little. Anyways, we hope you would still give this product a try, because it really is not that bad at all !

Verdict - Good for matching your skin colour. Dry for application on skin. Would really prefer a more liquid form.

REVIEW : Heavy Rotation Coloring Eyebrow

We are quite sure many of you have not tried your hands on these or any other eyebrow mascara before. Here is where we will give you some head ups about eyebrow mascaras. Especially when you watch your idols in eccentric magazine shoots and mostly where you can find usage of these make-up tools are in the Japanese and Korean pop scene. Photoshoots using eyebrows bring out a more lively character and creates a more lively look. It also creates a more natural look if you choose a colour similar to your hair colour.

Why are our eyebrows important? The shape of eyebrows firstly, they are part of the frame to our face. It is important that you understand the your eyebrows can affect your expressions and vibe. Second, colour. It will just look weird with your hair brown and eyebrows black, or if your hair is blonde and eyebrows still black. Unless if you are taking part in some cosplay or something along those lines, then you can let it be.

So what about eyebrow mascara? All of you who shape your eyebrows should by now all know that our eyebrow hair grows faster than the hair on our heads. Therefore in older times even now, many people would dye both their hair and eyebrows at the same time with the similar colour. However with growing of our eyebrow faster, we would have to dye it more often and so on. Then comes eyebrow mascara. You can call it temporary dye. It colours your eyebrow, just like how mascara works on your eyelashes.

Now about Heavy Rotations eyebrow mascara, it comes in a little bottle with the brush similar to the eyelash mascara brush as you can see from above. There is nothing much to this particular brand of eyebrow mascara. We picked it out of the others because it had a shade closer to our hair colours, and it seemed to be the most normal(darker) of the colours. As you could see in the photos below, it is somewhat sparkly, shiny, shimmery? Which is something we did not quite like. Firstly it will affect how it look in broad daylight, and secondly the colour is too light. Considering even this is one of the darkest colour we had to choose from.

Unless you need these for photo shoots or print ad purposes, we recommend just sticking to eyebrow pencils or crayons. And also this would be also recommended for those of you with lighter hair colours and your eyebrows just look weird sticking out black. You might want to try with the normal eyebrow pencils to see if the work with your hair colour first. And if your are dark skinned, this is not recommended, it just makes you look really pale, or sick? Just like blonde-yellow is not really recommended for dark skin either. We had fun trying this product out though.

Verdict - Not going for another one. Already abandoned till we find good use to play around.

REVIEW : Silkygirl Skin Perfect CC 2-Way Foundation

We actually got this in Singapore, Isetan if not mistaken. However it is now also available in Malaysia. We have all heard of BB creams, and now the beauty industry has introduced CC creams. What does CC stand for? Color Control. CC creams aim to even out skin tones and control the tones as well whenever applied.

This Silkygirl product comes in four shades, 01 Light, 02 Nude, 03 Natural, and 04 Medium. We tried this out in shade 03 Natural. If you happen to come across this product in the store, how do you choose your colour. Narrow down your options to about two, and never choose a shade to white for your face, you do not want to have a white-off effect in pictures or even in person. The powder is supposed to be a colour close to your skin colour so it could even it out, not to cover over your skin. Its four shades come in two types of colours, one with yellow undertone and the other has a more pinkish tone. Depends on how your skin is choose the opposite to cover it up. It covers redness pretty well.

What we really like about this product, is it really works like a BB cream. Actually even better, because most creams still make you feel like you have an extra layer or moisturiser or or when you touch your skin you could feel it. However, with this CC powder, it feels matte on your skin and even in pictures bumps are less visible. Say bye to all the little craters on the surface on your skin. You could use a pore eraser to fill your pores out first then have this applied on top.

We are actually loving this product so much, we have been using it everyday. Not only does it control your skin tone, because of its powder base, it controls oil as well. You can even touch up easily on your makeup whenever it gets too hot or oily. You can easily pile on powder but again becareful that you don't end up with a white-off effect.

Packaging wise, nowadays beauty companies have probably figured out consumers do not prefer their sponges to be constantly sitting right above their powder. For hygiene purposes as well. Therefore with this product, there is a flap that separates the sponge from the powder. Each time you open it up, just take out the sponge and pull the flap up and there you have your powder. It also comes with a small mirror behind the lid. We would definitely recommend this product.

Verdict - Good product. Will recommend for use.

Before we start on the new month, happy November :) ! Here's a list of do's and don'ts to warm up the beginning of the new month.

#1 Scrub your face.

Do not over-scrub your face. Many of us actually think the longer you scrub, the cleaner your skin gets, because the more it cleans. WRONG. Never scrub over the time written on the directions, and you do not want to harm your skin even more, because scrubbing is harsh to the skin. Be gentle to your skin, or it will not obey you ! Do not scrub daily too, unless allowed according to the directions stated on the packaging. You do not want to stress your skin.


#2 Face masks

Just as #1 on our list, do not leave your masks on for more than the recommended period of time. Yes, your skin is supposed to absorb the essence and goodness of the mask as you leave it on, and you might think the longer you have it on, the more your skin will be able to absorb and the more worth your money paid, but again, WRONG. Leaving your skin to absorb all the essence after some time would mean it is leaving your pores open for a longer period of time, thus, here comes homeless bacteria !


#3 Beauty is from within

There is no use piling up concealers and foundation if you are only going to suffocate your skin. Instead of covering up, learn to mend your skin. Learn to take care of it below all the layers. The more you pile, the least your skin is able to breathe, and this causes your skin to start to rebel against your efforts. Avoid having heavy make up all the time, and soon enough you might not even need to waste extra $$ on foundations and what nots to cover up.


#4 Your skin is what you eat

Some people are naturally blessed with good skin, and many others, the less blessed give up and just prefer covering up their flaws. What you don't realise is your skin reacts to what you eat. Watch your diet, avoid dairy when you have acne, drink lots of water to cool down your skin, eat plenty of fruits and berries as they are the anti-oxidants that will fight for your skin. And if there you are wanting to have it all, good skin and a thinner figure but you cant seem to achieve both, look into your diet. If you are dieting it down to only an apple a day, it is obvious your skin is not getting enough nourishment either, eat healthy, eat for your skin.


#5 The price you pay is the skin you get

Everyone has different types of skin, they react to different type of products. Do not, never buy based on price. An example, Brand X that is sold in drugstores nationwide may work wonders and is far better than Brand Y that is sold exclusively only in departmental stores. Research and read the ingredients, learn the sensitivity of your skin and look up what is best for it, buy according to ingredient or reviews, not by price, or ever get fooled into sales gimmicks.


#6 Skin represents wellbeing

To a certain extent other than hereditary reasons, it is mostly true. You can't expect to give only the best to your skin, treat it well to facials and masks, and even all sorts of things such as steroids or injections just to keep the beauty of your skin, to keep it glowing and clear. You need to eat right, you need to rest, you need to sleep. You need to stop worrying and deepening your wrinkle lines, you need to think happy thoughts. Otherwise it is just like keeping your skin alive on a respirator machine, which can also be very expensive. Think twice the next time you skip a meal, or decide to skip some rest time or sleep.

REVIEW : 3CE Jumbo Lip Crayon

Exactly how it is called, 3CE's Jumbo Lip Crayon is such of a crayon. Or looking at it, it seems like a colour pencil. However the texture of it is more like a crayon, it is not dry and pretty moisturising. It is really impressive of 3CE to think of this because normally you would not expect much moisturising components in a pencil but this does work.

Got this in colour #WOMAN TO WOMAN. If you are planning to get a bright red colour, this colour is a bit more orangey in real life. We would suggest you get colour #MAD RED instead if you are looking for a sexy colour. This colour gives off a more fun look though, and really make your lips stand out. We really prefer this colour better on fairer skin. We are not sure if you could see in the comparisons of the photos below without and with flash, it actually looks more orangey than red.

What we really like about this particular product is it being just like a lip liner, but is actually a lip colour. This is because it comes in pencil form, well sort of. Why hasn't anyone created something like this earlier or if they had why not market it better? Well, the tip provides you the precision for you to fix it anytime easily. Instead of having to use a lipstick with such a wide surface, there is change you make mistakes and apply out of your lip line that will be harder to fix. Also even if you usually will use a brush, isn't it a fuss to carry a bigger product with brushes in it? Easily you could have a quick fix whether at a meeting, or a party.

This just works like a charm seriously. It glides on smoothly, and does not wear out fast, however it may stain other surfaces easily at first if you apply too thick of it of course. It is not drying, and has no smell to is as well. Will definitely be getting this in other colours in our next buy. An item that should be in girl/woman's handbag. An emergency item, a friend in need indeed !

REVIEW : 3CE Lip Lacquer

Another innovative product from Stylenanda and 3CE. This product, their lip lacquer, comes off some sort as a lip gloss. Even from the packaging to the texture of it. It is nearly similar, both line of products. What really attracted us to try out this product would be its precision factor. This would mean ease of application when the colour runs out, and you're in a cramped party, what would you do? kind of situation. Its tip provides you with a slightly pointier tip just so you would not have to deal with a big surface of lipstick when you're tipsy or otherwise, just running around, collecting your friends.

We got this in two colours, #XX ORANGE and #HAWAIIAN PINK. Both colours are pretty fun colours, not the kind we would wear everyday, just as the pictures below. You can wear these colours especially to parties. The colours we chose are the colours that really pop and it really catches the eyes, perfect for fun times. The colours in real like look about nearly the same, in the pictures below without and then taken with flash.

This lip product lasts quite awhile. You want to be careful not to over apply the layers as it will just come off as messy and too thick. It is possible for only one dip to be used for your lips. The good thing about this lip lacquer is that is has a little glossy finish. Therefore, for those of you who do not like too much shine on a gloss, would like this. For those of you who like gloss this i already like coloured lip gloss, save your money on lip gloss separate from your lipstick. However as said, the shine is less.

For these colours, it again would suit fairer skin tones especially for the #XX ORANGE. If you are of a darker skin tone, you would want to choose another colour. Or if you intend to choose one of these, the #HAWAIIAN PINK would be better, but you also do not want too much contrast from your skin tone, you will look otherwise a lot darker. They come in 10 colours so no worries, you will be sure be able to find a colour that suits you.

REVIEW : 3CE Waterful Concealer

This concealer is as its name says, is "waterful". If you get what we mean, yes it is more fluid. It is a small tube, about less than half the size of your palm and comes with a nozzle. This helps when in application whether you dot it straight onto your face or when you are controlling the amount of the product when you squeeze it on the back of your hand.

As for the time is takes to dry, yes it dries pretty fast. However be rest assured when this concealer is piled, it will not look cakey. A point to why how fast it dries is mentioned, is because, you would want a concealer that does not dry too fast or too slow. If it is too slow, it will "disturb" the application of your makeup routine, as you need to allow it to dry before you accidentally rub it off. Also, if it is too fast, it down not give you time to blend it in. A tip with this one is to use a sponge for application instead, using your fingertips will not blend as fast and nicely. It will not dry up as fast too.

Because of its more liquid form, its coverage level is only at about medium. As you can see below, its coverage level when compared to the M.A.C's "Select Moisturecover" concealer.

As you can see, it does not cover as much. However when you pile on a few more layers, it is possible to achieve a higher coverage level.

Piling this on does not only not get cakey, it is not heavy as well. It is not the kind of product you pile on and straight on you could feel a slap of product or cream based substance on your face. It does not irritate the skin as well. We have tried it on sensitive skin.

A tip on the colour, this product comes in two colours, #001 and #002. It is easy to choose, because it blends in well cos of its watery form, if you are on the fair side, use #001, and if you are on the darker tanned skin, get #002. It glides on pretty well, so you should be able to blend to the colour of your skin pretty well. There is nothing much special about this concealer if you think about it, its just about the same as any other. It is not a bad one either. Only an additional point which is actually it is quite worth the price, that little tube holds so much and even with everyday use, it has lasted for 4 months and still going. Wow.

Rating - 3/5 *extra point for longevity.

REVIEW : 3CE Lip Marker

We have got ourselves two colours for this product. One in #Red and another in #Pink.  The red of course comes off easily but the pink, is a lot lighter so you would have to apply more than one layer for it. However, with one layer of pink, it actually looks pretty natural and it will give you this very innocent natural pink tint on your lips. If you try it on you hand, you can see as in the photos below. It comes of lighter on your skin as well, the colour actually looks more like it on your lips. And for the record, WE LOVE THIS PRODUCT ! Natural look, super natural !

A lot of you apply concealer on your lips before putting on any lipstick or so. For this marker, you do not do that. What we really want to applaud about this product is, the idea of it. With the marker, you could touch up easily, and there is more room for mistakes than lipsticks. This is because lipsticks, their colours and textures are thicker, and creamier. You could almost feel the product on your skin the whole time, and will usually end up staining your cup, or even your teeth. With this marker, all that is avoided, plus you look natural at it !

Application also comes easy. Treat this as a highlighter, it actually do look a lot like one, like above. Just simply, "draw" onto your lips ! Because the tip is thinner than your lipstick of course, it is easier. The size of it is about the same as a whiteboard rounded marker pen. Just simply draw on and add on your colour if you want a more vivid tone. Because its layers are so thin, it is easy to build up the product on your lips. It does not even feel heavy or you're having it on even with a few layers. It is not bulky.

What you may worry about by looking at it is if it will dry our your lips. The answer is no it does not. If you have naturally dry lips, you would just want to put on a thin layer of lip balm first and also drink lots of water ! Give this a try if you are into natural looking lips, or looking for a good lip tint.

REVIEW : 3CE Glam Cream Shadow

There is nothing much to this cream eyeshadow other than it is a cream based eyeshadow. Yes, there are many cream eyeshadows out there and this is just about the same, probably only the colour differs.

Nowadays, there are so many type of eyeshadows, you're spoilt by choice the moment you stop at a beauty stand. To name a few, there is the usual powdered eyeshadows, creams, and also the pencil type. Now, to make your choice. Since we are reviewing this product, so whats about cream eyeshadows that differ from the rest.

Firstly, it is cream based. This actually makes a difference in application and how long it stays on throughout the day. Because of its creamy texture, it holds together better than the old powdered one. This would mean, usually when you put on your eyeshadow, bits of it will fall onto your lower lid, or if you are using a dark colour, creates dark circles if you do not notice and wipe it off. Also, we personally feel that is why with normal powdered eyeshadows we usually apply eye primers first so that it will hold the colour and product onto the lid of your eyes. Do notice professional makeup artists tend to tap their brushes before apply the eyeshadow onto your eyes. They do so to tap the excess off, so that it will not be falling on your face instead.

Next on, personally and as a group, we feel it lasts longer. It is easier to blend out the colour as it is creamy. Application will not be as harsh to your skin as it is not of a dry texture. For some cream eyeshadows you can even wait for it to melt a little on your hand or fingertips which ease out in the application and blending later on.

Now, we got only one small tub of this in the colour #Gold Peach. And we just checked the website, they have actually stopped selling this colour. The colour and level of shimmery-ness of the cream shadow in the tub is as above, with and without flash. What disappoints about more cream shadows are when you actually buy it for its sparkly things. But only the have shimmer on the top layer of the shadow. This product you can bet on it it is not so. Even when you apply this on the skin, the colour matches the tub, just a lot lighter.

A bit on the colour is that, it is very sweet looking. And perfect for the under eyes for that innocent korean eyes look. The colour is very much the same as the tub and blends in a perfect shade of peach and shimmery. However even as in the photos above, the colour turned out more washed out than it is. You can actually see the peach colour better in real life. We have no idea why the lighting made the skin look so dark as well. You will have to see for yourself how peachy it looks then !

As said earlier this is most likely to be the same as any other cream eyeshadows, the texture and all. If there is a colour by a different brand or a substitute with a cheaper pricetag to it, we say go get it. Choice is all up to you.

REVIEW - 3CE One Color Shadow (Luster)

To start, 3CE has 4 ranges of powder eyeshadows; Matte, Sparkling, Luster and Shimmer. As their name suggests, each of their range differ in terms of their effect. We could all probably tell the "Matte" apart from the rest but how to the rest differ? Well, the way we see it, the difference is in the shimmer content which makes whichever more reflective to light. In order of most shimmering, "Sparkling", "Luster" then only comes "Shimmer". As you probably could not see in the close up below, but we still attached the photos with flash and without.

We got ourselves two colours from their "Luster" range, colours #Mercury and #Chocolate Factory. The reason why we got these two colours would be probably these suit our skin shades better. We are really often jealous of those with fairer skin who can literally just pull off any colour. Therefore we settled with a chocolaty brown and dark sea blue as seen on the website. Which we hoped what we saw on the website will be of the same colour when on our skin as well.

Delivery was pretty fast this time, it took about a little over a week. The packaging was like any usual eyeshadow but this came in a bigger diameter of about 4.5cm but having just dropped it, it cracked easily as we realised it is quite a thin layer. Both colours look real shimmery on the surface, we would only imagine how the "Sparkling" line will turn out to look like. The colours that came out were actually not so much of it. Below we have attached the swatches, with flash and without flash as below.

We actually put on about 2 layers for each, for the colours you see in the photo above. What we realise from both colours is they both came out differently. #Chocolate Factory was more pigmented and it came off the same colour as how it was on the pan. Whereas for #Mercury, especially when you use the tip of your finger for application, you fingertip is where most of the blue is even after you have applied onto your eyelids. Therefore the colour will come out sort of metal-ish on your eyelids. We suspect this had to do with more of the shimmer that was blue.

One point we did not like about it was, because of its powdery nature, when we picked the product up with out brush and onto our eyes, little of it will fall instead to bottom lids. We understand most eyeshadows are as such and there are ways to have less of that occurring but we just felt this particular eyeshadow was more powdery than the rest we have tried.

REVIEW : 3CE Lip Color

Firstly, this will sound a lot more like a haul than review. Because we will be showing you two colours that we tried out, #409 KISS WOO and #506 DAILY LADY. We tried this two, mainly just because a girl should always have two basic colours. One a natural lip colour for the day, and something hot for the night. That is how you should start out, with just these two, you will be amazed.

On 3CE's lipsticks we were impressed and how long-wear it was.The colour last for quite long even with your lips constantly pursing on the rim of the glass. It sticks to your lips very well, which you will realise at the end of your day or night-out. It is moisturising and does not dry out your skin, you wont be left with cracked lips when you remove it. Application is easy as in glides on smoothly as well, not bad for a lipstick, pretty standard though.

#409 Kiss Woo, looks pretty dark as the photo above. It looks like RED red, if you get what we mean. However it actually comes off a little lighter. But all in all we were satisfied with this colour. As you can see below, if you decide to get this colour, a guide for you for the colour. Instead of the mature, old lady vibe, this colour gives off a younger sexy vibe. It's colour suits well if you got fair skin especially, or pale skin, the colour 'pops'. If you are tanned as well, like us, this colour will definitely brighten up your complexion but just wont look as good as on fair skin.

Now, onto the next colour, the #506 Daily Lady. It looks pinkish on the skin, but when you apply it especially more than 2 or 3 swipes, it starts to go pale. However this is not the kind of lipstick you would want to put more than a layer or two, the colour would be best at a natural colour. The packaging came a little different from the #409 Kiss Woo as well, it is not rounded at the ends anymore and instead its with sharp sides. The lip color is as below.

As you can see above, it is quite a lady colour. And as below photos with flash and without flash. It might look dark on the skin but it is the colour that will come out on your lips. The colour that rubs off on your lips is gonna be the same as the stick, what you see is what you get, no surprises there. For a lipstick colour like this, you would want minimal make up with it. The lighter the better. If you have darker skin tone, best if you do not over apply or you will end up looking a little burnet. The same effect if you put a pale orange colour to your lips.

One more thing about this lipstick is that it does not go on oily on your lips. Most moisturising lipsticks have this oily feel to them and goes on pretty heavy sometimes. So far so good for this product from 3CE, it lasts well, does not crack you up and is not heavy to put on. But if there is another brand of lipstick that you like with some other colour, there should not be much competition amongst lipsticks. At this age, they are all pretty good.

REVIEW : 3CE Lip Pigment

So, what exactly is a lip pigment? We went over to 3CE's website with the same question in mind. Of course, everyone was raving about it, and you would feel left out if you did not know 3CE's lip pigment ! It is of course for your lips, and its like some sort of a lip colour. When we first received this, it really reminded of those watercolour days back in school, those in tubes. This kind of works and the texture of it is the same way too.

Why should you buy this? Firstly, it is just so fun to mix and match your colours instead of having the same boring ones. What we really like was, how we could easily mix the colours to get a certain shade we wanted. Example, you are looking for a soft pink lipstick colour. Truth be told how many pink lipsticks do you have to buy on an average before you hit the right colour? Some of us even lived with a substitute colour that is closest to the shade we want and just settle with it. With 3CE's lip pigment tho, they even have it in white and 6 other colours for you to play mix with (above photo). Now, you know it is fun, but as a lip colour, how is it? Surprisingly, it stays on pretty long. You can go half a day easily barely having to touch up if you choose the lighter colours. It does not sit too heavily on your lips as well. For this product, you would not have to apply too much of your lip balm as it does not dry out and crack your lips. For the next interesting part, yes this is made for your lips. But easily, you could apply it on your eyelids, it will act as an eyeshadow and even blusher. Use it on your face wherever and whenever you want. Some of the examples of usage of it other than on your lips is as below.

Our problem was after application when we had to clean the mess. Our advice is, instead using the back of your hand to mix, use smtg else that can act as your palette. Maybe a bottle cap, or a container cover, you get what we mean. Also you have to keep cleaning your brush or it will get sticky and harden. There might be instances when you press out too much product and end up wasting too, so the trick is to always be careful when pressing the cream out, however with time, you will learn the exact amount you need.

Bottom line is, this is pretty fun other than the mess later on. Not bad at all, an "A" for creativity !
